Another Round of Dos and Don’ts of Online Dating, featuring the ladies of AsianDate

Here’s another round of Dos and Don’ts of online dating, featuring the ladies of AsianDate. Don’t forget to read our other installments here and here – you can never know too much about this, trust us.

1. DO: Describe your personality in your profile

Let her know what you’re like! Extroverted, spirited and charismatic? Introverted, quiet and thoughtful? No matter your disposition, there are dozens of women out there who will complement your personality traits perfectly.

DON’T: Use clichés

“Work hard, play hard.” “I love to laugh.” “I love to travel.” All of these things might be true about you, but you need to find a new way to say them. Otherwise, your profile will look just like everyone else’s.

Xiaoxue says: “A lot of guys have good-looking pictures, but surprisingly few have descriptive profiles. I know some men don’t like to talk a lot, but at least let me know about your personality!”

2 DO: Be flexible with your tastes

There’s someone out there for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to find that neurologist with pink hair who loves jumbo shrimp. Make sure you’re not being too limited in your search for women, and you may find that you’re attracted to things that you’ve never even considered.

DON’T: Compromise your key values

If she doesn’t like the same foods or movies as you, that’s one thing. But if you’re looking for a long-term relationship and she just wants a friendship, then maybe that one isn’t gonna work out. Understand the difference between different tastes and different values.
