This Is The Worst Dating Advice That’s Keeping You Single

Finding the person who will become one of the most important in our lives is paramount for most of us. That’s why we’re dating. For some, it is even their life’s mission. Because of our desire, we seek advice from different people and resources so we can fulfill our mission. Without knowing it, we sometimes listen to the worst dating advice, and this is what’s keeping us single.

Never Listen To The Worst Dating Advice Given By Many

Our pursuit for the right person will not end overnight. The saying, “you have to kiss a lot of frogs to get to your prince” applies. There’s probably a male version for the saying, but you get the point. As we are dating, we usually hear that we need to make ourselves desirable. We need to put our best foot forward, which could seem like a logical dating tip to follow. However, it takes away one of the most important ingredients – authenticity.

Most of us interpret the advice differently than how it should be interpreted. Instead of focusing on yourself, and changing for the better, some online daters usually:

Tell fibs on their dating profiles.

They lie about their profession, their height, and even their educational background. These fibs may seem harmless at first, but it’s not going to look you’re a person who is trustworthy when your bubble pops.

Puff their chest when chatting.

You know how certain animals make themselves look bigger in the presence of a potential mate? This is what some online daters do. Sounding too proud is simply a turn-off.

Promise their online date the moon and the stars.

When things are going well, some online daters tell elaborate stories of how life will be like when they finally meet with the person they’re chatting. Going on expensive vacations, staying in luxurious villas, and going on different adventures are promised.

Where is the authenticity in these? Yes, saying these fibs will make us seem more desirable. There’s no doubt about that, but we need to remember that trust is the foundation of any relationship. If we make ourselves seem really date-able by telling lies, we’re not helping ourselves at all. Be your authentic self when you’re dating. Change for the better because you want to be a better person, not just so you can impress your date. For more tips and reviews, read other posts on the blog.
